USAC / CRA Series Set For Bigger 2005

(JANUARY 6, 2005 Fair Oaks, CA) … The United States Auto Club is putting the finishing touches on the 2005 California Racing Association sprint car calendar. Presently 39 dates make up the 2005 USAC-CRA racing schedule, highlighted by the Perris Oval Nationals which will take place November 3-5 at the "home track" for the traveling non-wing dirt series. Perris Auto Speedway (The PAS) will host 22 races this season beginning with a day show on Saturday February 5th, 2005.

The prestigious Western World Championship at Manzanita Speedway is a huge part of seven dates contested in the Phoenix, Arizona market. Ventura Raceway at Seaside Park will allow race fans to breathe maritime air and watch sprint cars on the tight 1/5-mile bullring on three 2005 occasions.

Skagit Speedway returns to the USAC-CRA slate with two dates in the Great Northwest. The Alger, Washington racetrack has been reconfigured for 2005 to produce better racing for the 800 horsepower sprinters. Additional efforts are being made at press time to add two dates that would take place during the USAC-CRA series Northwest Tour.

Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA. has two USAC-CRA races. The 'King of the Dirt Tracks' will host Rip Williams, Damion Gardner, Mike Kirby, Cory Kruseman, and the rest of the USAC CRA stars on June 4th, and August 13th respectively.

A new venue in 2005 will be the Santa Maria Speedway. Located along the central coast of California, the fast, high-banked 1/3 mile track has long been a favorite of Western race fans. Santa Maria will be the site of two summer dates, allowing teams a chance to cool off near the Pacific Ocean. Bakersfield Speedway in Oildale has a single date (March 12th).

The 2005 schedule opens early on January 29th at 'Manzy'. The Saturday night race will compliment the USAC action taking place in the Copper World Classic at Phoenix International Raceway.
